How do you Make Hyderabadi Shahi Tukda?

Shahi Tukda Calories: 200 Cal per serving
Serves: 4
Ingredients for Paan Coconut Ladoo
- Bread slices- 4
- Milk - 1 1/2 Cup
- Chopped Cashew Nut: 1/4 cup
- Chopped Almonds: 1/4 cup
- Chopped Pistachios: 1/4 cup
- Powdered Sugar 1/4th Cup
- Cardamom Powder - 1/4th tsp
- Ghee - 3-4 tsp
- Saffron Strands - 1 pinch
Method of making Homemade Shahi Tukda
- First of all, you will have to melt the sugar in water to make the sugar syrup. You can add a little bit of green cardamom powder and 1 saffron strand in the sugar syrup.
- Make sure that your Sugar Syrup is of 2 strings consistency.
- For this place a drop of it on your fingertips, and then check the consistency.
First Step is to Make the Rabri for Shahi Tukda
If you wish, You can always skip this step and use Milkmaid in place of homemade Rabri
- Now take a heavy bottom vessel and boil out the milk until it reduces to 1/4th part.
- Reducing the milk will take a lot of time, so please be patient with it.
- Also, keep stirring the milk at regular intervals to avoid it getting burned. Scrape the sides at regular intervals.
- Now, when the milk has completely reduced, (there'll be milk solids, floating in the bottom) you may go on to add the green cardamom powder, and the sugar syrup in the milk.
- Do not use the entire sugar syrup, just use a part of it.
- Keep stirring to mix everything for say 4 to 5 minutes.
- Now, you can turn off the flame.
Step 2
- Now, take your breads and cut it out diagonally.
- Now, take a frying pan and shallow fry your Bread slices with some Ghee until fragrant and golden brown.
- Once, you are finished with frying, you can turn off the flame.
Step 3
- Now, soak in the roasted Breads in the leftover sugar syrup for some time.
- Now take out a decorative serving plate.
- Place the bread slices one after other.
- Spread the Rabri on top.
- Decorate it with chopped dry fruits, rose petals and saffron strands.
- Serve it for festivals to your family and friends and enjoy it's delicious taste.
