Father's Day is right around the corner. And, I'm truly excited about Father's Day. More than Mother's Day to be honest with you.
Mother's Day is special to me. Mother's Day is more about celebrating and Thanking Mom for being with me through thick and thin.
But with Dad. It's a different story. I've always been kind of a shy guy. With Mom I've been myself from Day 1.
But with my daddy, I've always tried to prove my worth to him.
Daddy, let me do this for you. Dad, let me handle this. Dad let me take care of this for you. I couldn't be a child with him.
But, today, After 32 years I see - my Dad as my partner now. I see him more as a human than as a God like I used to see him.
And, things have improved so much in the past couple of years.
Not because I have helped him to do so and so.
But because I've opened the gates of communication.
As a Son, I would always be scared of him - especially in my childhood and my teen years.
But, things changed so much when I started communicating with him as a friend, rather than as my Dad.
And, most of these things are about Dad - how was this in your childhood, who is this person in this photo? How was it like in your first day at office? Were you scared? What are you afraid of? And more!
I'm sure you might also want to ask these questions to your Dad.
And Father's Day is the best time to ask these questions.
